Day 1: Tuesday

 

Welcome on board. Today you will: 

 

  • Learn about Jewish life in Krakow through the ages
  • Tour the Krakow Ghetto
  • Visit Oscar Schindler’s factory
  • Tour the Plazow Labor Camp
  • Visit Krakow’s Wawel Royal Castle
  • Enjoy free time in Krakow

Overnight: Krakow

 

Day 2: Wednesday

 

Today you will visit Auschwitz, the largest Nazi death camp. You will: 

 

  • Visit Auschwitz I, the original camp constructed at the site
  • Stand in Auschwitz I’s gas chambers
  • Hear the horrific stories of those interned at the camp
  • See the punishment block
  • Visit Birkenau, one of the subcamps of Auschwitz and the largest Nazi extermination center
  • See what remains of the crematorium
  • Pay your respects to those who perished.

Overnight: Krakow

 

Day 3: Thursday

 

Today you will travel to Lublin and Majdanek, the most intact of the Nazi death camps. You will: 

 

  • Hear personal stories of the horrors that occurred at the camp
  • See the gas chambers and crematorium
  • View the prisoner barracks and learn about the conditions in which prisoners lived and died
  • Pay your respects at the mausoleum containing the ashes of camp victims.
  • Have the option of an evening tour of Lublin’s Old Town.

Overnight: Lublin

 

Day 4: Friday

 

 

Today you will travel to Warsaw and will:  

 

  • Tour the POLIN museum of Jewish History
  • Learn about the Jewish community in Poland today
  • Join the community for a meaningful Shabbat dinner

Overnight: Warsaw

 

Day 5: Saturday

 

Shabbat Shalom. Today you will have the option of resting or enjoying a waling tour of the historic center of Warsaw.

Day 6: Sunday

 

Today you visit Treblinka, and then tour the area of the Warsaw Ghetto. You will: 

 

  • Pay your respects at Treblinka State Memorial, the site where many of Warsaw’s Jews were murdered
  • Learn about the horrific conditions of the few Jews who were not murdered on arrival, and who were used as slave labor at Treblinka
  • Learn about the horrific state of the Warsaw Ghetto and the conditions in which the Ghetto’s residence lived
  • Visit the railway platform form which Jews were deported to death camps
  • Learn about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and see where the headquarters of the Jewish resistance organization were located
  • Hear about the bravery of Janus Korczak and see where his orphanage stood

Your tour ends this evening. After a final farewell meal and time to process, we will arrange a transfer to Warsaw International Airport or to your hotel in Warsaw.

Our tours are Shabbat friendly in that no included activity requires you to do anything prohibited on Shabbat – our tours on Saturday are walking tours. We do include walking tours on Saturday mornings – if you prefer to go to a synagogue service, you are welcome to do so. 

Of course – you will have free time in each city. 

On booking your trip you will be asked to pay a deposit of 10% of the total tour cost. This amount is not refundable except in our absolute discretion.  The balance of the tour cost is due at least 31 days before the start of your tour. If you cancel less than 31 days before the start of your tour, but more than 14 days, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel 14 days or less than before the start of your tour, you will not receive any refund except in our absolute discretion.

You will be accompanied by a highly qualified Israeli tour guide, educator and expert on European Jewish history, as well as a local tour guide/driver.

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. If you do not, you may incur very substantial costs especially in the case of flight changes and a medical emergency.
